If you've been looking for an affordable Indian restaurant in West LA, definitely CURRY up and check out Maharaja! I've been coming here since undergrad 5 years ago, and their prices for their lunch buffet special have literally stayed the same since then! For $13.95 (or $15 after taxes), you can self serve anything from their buffet bar, which has rice, several types of curry, salad, and sauces that are obviously freshly prepared and constantly refilled when they run out. They also give you a basket of the tastiest, freshly baked garlic naan bread, which is literally one of my favorites. This spot is seriously unbeatable for their prices, and for the quality, freshness, and self-controlled portion sizing, it's definitely a great spot if you're eating on a student budget and looking for cheap eats!

I don't know why it's taken me so long to review this place! I've been here a number of times and each time is better than the last! I came here with a group of friends most recently for their lunch Buffet and was happily pleased by everything I had! We paid 12.99 per person for all you can eat. There are so many selections and each one is so full of flavor. My favorite options were the lamb curry and the chicken curry. When you are sat, they also place garlic naan on the table which pairs well with the options displayed. The restaurant is overall clean and spacious and we never have an issue being sat. The customer service is amazing as well and the waiters are so attentive and nice. I highly recommend this restaurant!

Ordered a lamb tikka masala, daal makhani, and onion bhaji the other day. The onion bhaji was basically onion rings (was expecting pakoras) and it was raw inside. Tasted like they literally tossed some onions into a batter and quickly fried it, without even cooking all the way. Other that that, the lamb tikka masala and daal were really good. Service was nice as well. Would go there again to try other menu items!

Came for the $15 lunch buffet. Good selection of veg and meat based curries. Naan is also included at the table but left them know if you want less so as to not waste. Drinks are extra. Food was great and not too spicy more mild curries. The rice, yogurt based sauces, and naan help temper the heat if it's too much.

This place was such a surprise. Was craving Indian food and decided to give it a try- the inside was big but it was mostly empty during dinner time! Service was great our waitress was so nice. The food here was amazing. I was very impressed with the taste and quality of everything we tried. We had 2 different curries and the lamb chops. Will def be coming back

Hands down the best Indian food I have ever had! Food is so delicious in a nice cozy environment with the most polite and sweet servers. We started with Punjabi Samosas, which comes with 2 sauces, one sweet and one delicately spicy. Then had one of the most delicious lamb chops, chicken tikka and gosht sagvala with rice and garlic naan. They also have lunch buffets which will be my next plan! 10/10 recommended!

Outstanding dinner served by nice people in a lively yet calm restaurant. Can't believe I had never stopped by, but am so glad to have finally visited. The Lassi (in this case the Royal Lassi) is delicious and a wonderful drink. It translates into yogurt with mango and saffron, yum! That along with the simple, crunchy papadum is a great way to start things off. The big (but not overwhelmingly big) menu gives you lots to consider. We went with the Chicken Curry (though other chicken dishes did tempt). The spices and flavors are just enough, and I love how the chicken is in whole pieces, rather than chopped up. Freshly cooked and tender, the chicken and the whole dish satisfies. The other entree we tried was a lamb dish: Gosht Sagwala. Lamb pieces cooked with spinach and 'delicately spiced.' Very flavorful. I asked for medium spice, and I could have gone way higher. It left me with a slight tingle and lip-smacking joy. We ordered the Garlic Naan, of course. Freshly baked with flecks of garlic jumping out. Our rice dish was also a big winner and an old favorite of mine: Peas Pulao. More interesting and expressive flavors than the typical Peas Pulao. It's a fantastic accompaniment to any dish. The portions are good-sized and we have some leftovers to look forward to, too. Still, while there, we supped full. Delightful, low-key, professional, and hospitable, Maharaja Cuisine of India is a kindly prince of Westwood.

Excellent Lunch buffet! A hidden spot for Indian food. Garlic naan was included. Mango Lassi 4$

This is by far the best go to place for Indian food that I know of in all of Los Angeles. I've been here at least 20 times, and the food is always good. Some of my favorite dishes are the lamb, Bryany and the chicken tikka Marcella along with a garlic naan, most of the time I'm surprised that's it's not busier at night. It's always easy to get a seat. They now have a beer & wine license so it's even better!
